Testing & Validation

The laboratory behind the instrument.

Our laboratory evaluates immersion fluids, materials, and components to help you understand fluid performance and investigate the changes continuous monitoring reveals.

A question. A plan. Evidence.

Build a test plan around your application.

  1. 01

    Define the question

Start with your fluid, materials, operating environment, and the question you need to answer.

  2. 02

    Shape the test plan

Choose representative hardware and test conditions that match your immersion goals.

  3. 03

    Investigate the evidence

Use electrical measurements and laboratory investigation to understand the conditions under test.

Capabilities

Our test lab is set up to accommodate both single-phase and two-phase requirements, and we can help you develop a test plan to meet your immersion goals.

Fluid Validation

Establish how a dielectric fluid behaves electrically with real assemblies immersed in it.

Surface resistance and current leakage measurements help evaluate electrochemical reliability on printed circuit board assemblies. In immersion testing, representative hardware runs in the candidate fluid so you can evaluate electrical behavior under defined conditions.

We can help develop a test plan against your immersion goals, and our laboratory is set up to accommodate both single-phase and two-phase requirements.

  • A test plan matched to the fluid and the application
  • Custom test coupons and component packages ready for use
  • Continuous electrical data across the test period

Material Compatibility

Evaluate how wetted materials interact with a dielectric fluid over time.

Seals, gaskets, metals, plastics, and cables can interact with immersion fluids through mechanisms including dissolution, absorption, swelling, and environmental stress cracking.

Through OCP participation, fluidiQ contributes to the open-source Material Compatibility Database for the OCP Material Compatibility Workstream. This capability draws on that community database.

  • Material and fluid pairings assessed against the workstream's risk-level vocabulary
  • Failure-mechanism identification where the interaction is unambiguous

Contamination Evaluation

Qualify process residues and contamination against their effect in an immersion environment.

Evaluate test coupons assembled using your surface-mount process to investigate how manufacturing residues affect electrical behavior in an immersion environment.

Production hardware can be immersed alongside heated, ultra-clean reference coupons to investigate how production materials and residues affect neighboring test structures.

  • Manufacturing process qualification against immersion contamination risk
  • Production hardware qualification alongside clean reference coupons

Fluid Aging & Oxidation

Track how a fluid changes with time in service, and what that does electrically.

Dielectric fluids can extract impurities or oxidize over time, and the question that matters is whether the electronics in that fluid are affected yet.

Aging studies run instrumented cells over extended periods so the electrical consequence is measured continuously rather than sampled.

Component & Material Testing

Test specific components and materials in a controlled immersion environment.

Our engineers can design custom test cards to meet specific production and testing requirements, so the structures under test represent the hardware you actually ship.

  • Custom test cards designed to your production and testing requirements
  • Structures that represent the hardware you actually ship

Custom Immersion Studies

Design and run a study against a question that does not fit a standard test plan.

Comparative fluid evaluations, extended aging programs and collaborative research all start the same way: with the question, and a method that can answer it defensibly.

  • Comparative fluid evaluations and extended aging programs
  • Collaborative research designed around your question

Not sure which applies?

Tell us the question you are trying to answer and we will tell you whether it is a test plan, an instrument, or both. If you are heading to SC26, we can talk it through at the booth.
